Zim’s Lily Could Be The One

The first race is off at 13h15

Eight races are scheduled for the Vaal this afternoon and it looks to be a competitive programme.

The main race on the day is Race 5 which is a Merit Rated 100 Handicap for the girls over 1800m.

Lily Blue has had two decent efforts since relocating from Zimbabwe and will be looking to get off the mark.

The first race is off at 13h15.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Rivonia Boulevard from the Sean Tarry stable is the best bet on the day.

He won his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course well.

He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and with Luke Ferraris retaining the ride, he should notch up his fourth career victory.

Dorrie Sham sends out Fsquadron in Race 6. He was ultra-impressive when winning his maiden over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course.

Piere Strydom rides Fsquadron in race 6 today.

The manner in which he drew away from the rest of the field in the closing stages caught the eye.

The son of Master Of My Fate makes his handicap debut today, but he is lightly raced and looks to have scope. Piere Strydom takes the ride which is a big plus.

Diego De Gouveia is not riding as he is medically indisposed.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight to 7m on the bend, with a 10m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 13h15
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h50
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h30
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 15h00
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h30

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
