Bling Could Turn The Tide

The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h25

Racing takes place on the Inside course at Turffontein this afternoon and eight races are carded.

Lyle Hewitson has five mounts and may be the jockey worth following.

The first race is due off at 12h35.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Quantum King hails from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. He ran a good race on debut over this course and distance.

Despite racing green, he showed pace and stayed on nicely at the finish.

The son of Querari would have come on from the run and in this type of field, he should be the one to beat.

Lucky Houdalakis saddles Dark Tide in Race 7 and he represents decent each way value. He took on stronger company in his last start over 1600m on the Standside course.

He finished 1.3 lengths behind Ballon D’or in his penultimate effort. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He has finished second three times and third once from five starts on this course. His last victory came under S’manga Khumalo. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

Dark Tide will be running with blinkers on today.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight and bend with a 2m spur at the 500m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
