Have A Lucky Day!

The first is off at 13h15

A competitive eight-race programme is scheduled for the Vaal this afternoon.

The main event on the day is Race 6 which is a Merit Rated 93 Handicap for three-year olds over 1100m.

The meeting starts at 13h15 while the last race is due off at 17h06.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Mayon from the in-form Lucky Houdalakis stable is the best bet on the day. She produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course.

She lost a length at the start that day but once finding her feet, she finished her race off well.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Alec Laird sends out Jonny Ripon in Race 1 and he is currently trading at 16/1 with Hollywoodbets.

He is lightly raced with fair form to his credit. The manner in which he races suggests that he will be at home over today’s distance.

The son of Crusade carries just 54kgs today and may be the one to side with.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
