Trippi On The World Map

Brilliant miler, says trainer

Liams Map beats Harlans Holiday

Liam’s Map beats Harlan’s Holiday

Drakenstein Stud’s leading sire Trippi’s top class grandson Liam’s Map has been confirmed a runner for the $1 million Gr1 Breeders Cup Dirt Mile.

The Las Vegas Breeders Cup Dirt Mile will take place at Keeneland on October 30th and is one of 13 Breeders Cup races carded to take place over two days.

Trainer Todd Pletcher said of the decision to send the colt to the Mile, “He’s proven that he’s a brilliant miler and the two-turn aspect here, I think suits him very well… and we want to take our best shot at winning a Breeders’ Cup (race).”

Liam’s Map (by Unbridled’s Song) has not raced since winning the Gr1 Woodward Stakes

The striking grey four-year-old has won five of seven outings and just over $800 000 in stakes. Liam’s Map previous top performances also include a win in the Harlan’s Holiday Stakes and a second to the outstanding Honor Code in the G1 Whitney Stakes at Saratoga.

His dam, Miss Macy Sue, was herself a top class performer, who won or placed in 18 of her 25 outings and earned more than $800 000 in stakes. The daughter of Trippi won five stakes races and also finished third in the 2007 Breeders Cup F&M Sprint.

Liam’s Map is one of two stakes winners produced by his dam, who is also responsible for Any Limit Stakes winner Taylor S (by Medaglia D’Oro).

Miss Macy Sue’s sire Trippi has made an astonishing start to the new South African racing season and had a feature race double last Saturday with Inara (Gr3 Diana Stakes) and Trip To Heaven (Gr2 World Sports Betting Joburg Spring Challenge).

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
