Trent Brings The Funk To Vaal!

First due off @ 12h05

Nine races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon with the first due off at 12h05 and the lucky last set for 16h40.

Richard The First from the Fanie Bronkhorst stable takes his place in Race 5. He took on a competitive field in the Gr3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time.

His two starts prior to that outing were good.

He has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance.

He is the best weighted runner in this contest, and he can return to winning ways.

Trainer Paul Matchett sends out Funky Music in Race 8. He finished 4.15 lengths behind Fort Lauderdale last time.

He is 9kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance.

Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off his back and he should be the one to beat.

Jockey Raymond Danielson will not be riding today.
