Snaith Filly Is ‘Deadly Over 1400m’

Race 6 on Saturday due off @ 14h42

Ten fillies and mares will clash in the R500 000 East Coast Radio Gr2 Tibouchina Stakes at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.

Michele Wing previews the race.

Trainer / Jockey Comments:

  1. DOUBLE GRAND SLAM: “She’s comes back to the 1400m. She seems deadly over the distance. She beat the group 1 South African Fillies Sprint winner (October Morn) over the distance by 3 ½ lengths (in the SplashOut Prix du Cap Gr3). If everything is just chilled on the day … quiet and everything goes fine, she’s certainly one of the better bets on the card”, Justin Snaith.
  1. HUMDINGER: “I think Hollywoodbets Greyville over the 1400m, is right up her ally. She’s well handicapped, except for the filly that Richard Fourie is riding (Double Grand Slam). She’s drawn on the outside, which will give us some advantage, but I think we’re racing for 2nd. Obviously trying the hardest to win, with a lot in our favour, but it looks as if Richard Fourie’s filly might be too strong for us”, Piere Strydom.
  1. CELTIC RUMOURS: “She’s had a good preparation. She has a plum draw of 3 and has campaigned successfully over her last few starts, in some very good company. Gavin Lerena is unbeaten on the filly. Even though this is a tough field, I believe she’ll be right there”.
  1. BAVARIAN BEAUTY: “The Tony Peter filly will be looking to regain the form which saw her win the Grade 1 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes at the end of Champions Season last year. Has drawn pole with regular jockey Calvin Habib in irons”, Racing News.
  1. GIMME A SHOT: “Four-time winner from 1200 -1600m. Has previously raced at Hollywoodbets Greyville. Is backing up her unlucky run in the grade 1 South African Fillies Sprint just a week ago at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Has a good draw of 2, with Muzi Yeni in the irons who has won on her before”, Racing News.
  1. JUST BE LEKKER: “It’s nice to see her get her confidence back again (she won a MR96 Divided Hcp last time out). With that confidence behind her, she can carry on”, Candice Dawson.
  1. HAPPY CHANCE: “This is a preparation race for the Garden Province on July Day. On her work and well-being, I definitely think you can’t count her out on the day”, James Crawford.
