A power failure in Johannesburg on Friday night delayed the declaration of dividends for various races and bets and affected pool totals.
In an official press release issued on Saturday afternoon by Phumelela Gaming, customers were advised that the power failure followed by a generator malfunction resulted in TAB having to perform an unscheduled shutdown of the tote system.
This in turn resulted in TAB not receiving final scans of various pools from international commingling partners like Isle Of Man and France and bets from these sources were consequently refunded.
