Tony Has An Appleseed In The Lucky Last

First due off @ 12h35

Today’s local racemeeting takes place at the Vaal with the first on the eight-race programme due off at 12h35 and the lucky last set for 16h40.

A reminder that selections for the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge must be in at least 5 minutes before the first is due off.

Johnny Appleseed from the Tony Peter stable takes his place in Race 8 and he may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He is better than his last start as he was reported to be fatigued.

He finished 1.45 lengths behind Blaze A Way in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

The son of Admiral Kitten is likely to race on the speed and he may be hard to peg back.

Trainer Sean Tarry sends out Satyagraha in Race 2. He caught the eye when third over this course and distance on debut.

He lost a length leaving the start but finished off his race strongly.

The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
