Gimmie’s Countess from the Dean Kannemeyer stable takes her place in the Zulu Kingdom Gr2 Explorer Golden Slipper.
She was unlucky not to have won the Gr1 SA Fillies Sprint last time as she was baulked for a run between the 350m mark and 100m mark.
Her mother, Real Princess won twice over 1400m. She has had experience of racing around the turn which will stand her in good stead.
Craig Zackey retains the ride and if getting a clear run in the straight, she should take a power of beating.
Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Brett Crawford sends out Oriental Charm in the Hollywoodbets Durban July. He won a good race in the Gr3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial last time.
JP van der Merwe sent him to the front and he kept finding to hold Shoemaker at bay. The son of Vercingetorix finished 0.3 lengths behind Future Swing in the Grade 2 WSB 1900 in his penultimate run.
He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
He has had the perfect preparation for this race and may be hard to catch at the finish.
Melech from the Roy Magner stable represents decent each way value in the Grade 2 Post Merchants.
He was carried outwards when leaving the start in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint last time but the way he finished off his race, was eye-catching.
The son of William Longsword has won twice from three starts over this distance. On paper, there is a lot of speed which will suit him perfectly.
The booking of Raymond Danielson is a big plus and the combination will be mowing down the frontrunners.
