First Juveniles Step Out Today

The Pick 6 starts in the third at 13h40

An eight-race programme is scheduled for Turffontein this afternoon.

The first two Juvenile races for the 2020/2021 season are also upon us.

The first race is off at 12h40 while the proceedings finish at around 16h40.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Numberninetynine from the Corne Spies stable is the best bet on the day and looks to be the possible Pick 6 banker.

He has finished second in his last three starts over this distance. He raced from just off the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Convexity.

He does not meet the strongest line-up and the son of Bold Silvano should get it right.

Clinton Binda sends out Afriel in the last race on the day.

She lost three lengths at the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race caught the eye.

The drop to the minimum trip will suit her well and if jumping on terms, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Afriel has alumites on and is unshod behind in today’s race.

Numbernightynine has had a change of owners- he will now race in scarlet and crimson quartered diagonally, with scarlet sleeves and cap.

Jarryd Penny is not riding as he is medically indisposed.

The false rail is 3,5m on the back straight to 8m on the bend, with a 8m spur at the 700m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h40
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h10
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 13h40
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h10
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 14h50

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
