A Classic Day At The Vaal

Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h15

Racing is on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon and nine races are scheduled.

Jockey Warren Kennedy was in fine form on Tuesday at Turffontein riding three winners. He has eight rides booked this afternoon and looks set to have another good day in the saddle.

The first race is due off at 12h05.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Ideal Angel from the Erico Verdonese yard takes her place in Race 5.

She was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance against much stronger. That was her first outing with the blinkers fitted.

She takes a drop in class today and from her good draw of four, she should take a power of beating.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Corne Spies sends out Roger The Dodger in Race 6. He was not disgraced when finishing fourth against stronger company last time.

It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.

The son of Captain Of All won his only attempt on this course. He takes a drop back in class today and may be the one to beat.

The false rail is 2.5m on the back straight and bend with a 3.5m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 12h35
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h05
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h40
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h15
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the sixth race at 14h55
