Lerena The Jock To Follow

The Bipot starts in the first at 12h35

Vaal Racecourse plays host to an eight-race programme on the Classic track.

Gavin Lerena has seven rides this afternoon and may be the jockey to follow.

The first race is due off at 12h35.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Johan Janse van Vuuren saddles Big Eyed Girl in Race 1 and she is the best bet on the day. She produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Turffontein.

She found plenty of betting support that day, which suggests that she had been showing good work back at home.

The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Big Eyed Girl will be running with a tongue tie on today.

Devilish Dancer from the St John Gray stable represents some decent each way value in Race 6. She is much better than her last start at Turffontein.

The daughter of Silvano needs a long run-in to give herself time to unwind. She gets the blinkers fitted today which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena keeps faith in the ride and she can return to winning ways.

Chase Maujean and Muzi Yeni will not be riding as they are medically indisposed and Warren Kennedy will not be riding due to flight complications.

The false rail is zero on the back straight and bend with a 2,5m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h35
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h10
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 13h50
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h25
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h00

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
