Lerena – The Man To Follow Today

The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h50

Eight races are scheduled on the Inside course at Turffontein today.

After closing off the meeting on Tuesday, Gavin Lerena will be looking to continue where he left off. He has a full book of rides and may be the man to follow.

The first race is due off at 13h05.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Alec Laird sends out Royal Wulff in Race 5. He followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1160m on the Standside course.

It must be noted that the form line of his last outing has worked out well.

He should have no issues with the extra distance on offer as he has placed over the mile in the past. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Sea Ways from the Stuart Pettigrew stable represents some decent each way value in Race 7. He showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1500m on this course.

He should have finished closer that day as his pilot dropped his reins at the 200m mark. He has finished second once and third once from three starts over this distance.

His last victory came under Diego de Gouveia and the combination can find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

The false rail is at 2.5m on the back straight and bend with a 4.5m spur at the 500m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
