Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h50

Eight races are scheduled at Turffontein on the Inside course this afternoon.

Gavin Lerena has ridden 30 winners at Turffontein this term at a strike-rate of 19.1%. He has five rides today and will be looking to add to that tally.

The first race is due off at 13h00.

Puerto Manzano from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable was not disgraced when finishing second in the Non-Black Type Egoli Mile last time.

He challenged strongly all the way to the line that day, but found one too good in the form of Stone Cold.

He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. He looks to have ability and should take a power of beating.

Dorrie Sham sends out Enigma Code in Race 5 on the card. He showed very good improvement when finishing third in his last start over this distance on the Standside course.

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

The son of Toreador jumps from a good draw and if repeating that effort in this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag.

The false rail is 4m on the back straight and bend with a 6m spur at the 500m mark.
