Jimmy The Rich writes that Puerto Manzano from the visiting Johan Janse van Vuuren stable is the best bet on the card.

He set the pace in the Gr1 WSB Gauteng Summer Cup last time, but tired late. He is the best weighted runner in this contest.

The son of Seek Again tries the 2200m for the first time and, if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should take a power of beating.

Andre Nel saddles Crimea in Race 4. She took on stronger in her last start over 1900m on this course.

She returns from a 15-week break, which may have done her the world of good. She has won twice and finished second three times from six starts over this distance.

She takes a drop in class and if not in need of the run, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
