In a notice issued on Wednesday afternoon, 4Racing advise that Turffontein has received 58mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours and 179mm of rainfall in the last 7 days.
The Vaal has received 4mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours and 104mm in the last 7 days.
The current Pen reading on the Turffontein Standside track is at 28.
The Turffontein Inside track is currently waterlogged.
The current Pen reading at the Vaal is averaging 26.
The forecast shows further rain through the evening and any further rain would put Thursday’s race meeting in jeopardy.
Gallops have been scheduled for both venues at around 07h00 to 07h30 , all dependant on the rainfall through the evening, in order to give this meeting the best chance to go ahead.
