This year’s CTS Joburg Ready To Run Sale is scheduled for the evenings of the 24th& 25th November at Randjiesfontein Training Centre.
In contrast to recent years, the gallops will no longer be staged at Summerhill, but for the convenience of their customers, CTS have scheduled them for Randjiesfontein on Monday 21st November, as part of the Summer Cup festival the following weekend (26th November).
I’m sure it’s not necessary for me to mention the outstanding success of the Ready To Run as the unparalleled source of Big race winners pound-for-pound, in the land. In recent years, it’s churned out something approaching thirty millionaires now, many Group One winners, Horses Of The Year and Equus champions, and its success since CTS took on the responsibility of staging the sale, has continued unabated, writes Mick Goss.
That first CTS draft alone has yielded the only colt of his generation to win Group Ones at two and three, Rabada, together with the Classic laureates Heaps Of Fun (Gauteng Fillies Guineas) and Witchcraft (Gold Circle Oaks), not to mention Stakes winners, Tar Heel and Perfumed Lady, Summer Cup entry Hidden Agenda, and the dual Group One performer, Intergalactic, who laid down her credentials for the forthcoming Group One fillies events on the Highveld when she smothered a field of Joburg’s best on her comeback run last week.

Among the early stars emerging from last year’s Ready To Run are the Group One performers, Africa Rising and Visuality, the highly impressive Unagi, and the first and second-timers, Yankeedoodledandy, Copper Pot, The Thinker, Miss Turbo, Newlands and In The Web.
Mick Goss – ‘you may say you have heard it all before…’
No sensible horseman or woman would shun the idea of having a steed like these in their clutches, and nothing would please us more than to know you’re among the guests of CTS and ourselves in that penultimate week of November.
While you’ll tell me you’ve heard it all before, the team at home believes this crop is as good as any we’ve had the pleasure of consigning in the past; we’ll leave it to your judgment when you’ve seen the catalogue and witnessed the gallops, to decide whether they’re on the button.
In their usual enterprising way, CTS have offered to fund and/or provide flights to Jo’burg for the occasion, and of course to accommodate buyers while you’re in town, which means we’ll have the pleasure of catching up again if you’re able to make it.
