She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight does face much stronger, but she looks to have class about her, and she can remain unbeaten.

Surjay from the Brett Crawford stable takes his place in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint. He finished 0.6 lengths behind Lucky Lad last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He finished 3.55 lengths behind Dyce in his penultimate start. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around. He has won four times, finished second twice and third three times from ten starts over this distance.

S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
