The Makwakkers Looks Some Value At 25-2

The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h15

An open looking eight-race programme is scheduled for today on the Vaal Classic course.

The first race is off at 13h05 with the last race at 16h45.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Lotus from the Paul Peter stable is the best bet on the day.

The daughter of Flower Alley produced a promising debut effort when finishing second over 1200m on this course. She didn’t get the best of starts that day, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

She will enjoy the extra 250m on offer today and with Winning Form sponsored Warren Kennedy in the saddle, she should take a power of beating.

Collen Storey rides The Makwakkers (Pic-Candiese Lenferna)

The Makwakkers at 25/2 with Hollywoodbets looks to be the best value on the card. He has shown some signs of returning to best form since the 14-week break.

He took on much stronger company when finishing 3.25 lengths behind Putontheredlight in a Graduation Plate last time. Both Riverstown and Risk Taker who finished in front of him that day, have come out and won since.

The son of Byword takes a drop in class today and if putting his best foot forward, he could cause the upset.

Please note that Callan Murray and Devin Habib are not riding.

The going is classified as ‘good’ with the false rail set at zero on the back straight, 3m on the bend and with a 5m spur at the 800m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 13h05
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h40
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h15
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h45
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h15

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
