Tellytrack CEO Rob Scott has confirmed that there are processes in place to ensure that any punter sensitive information is disseminated on Tellytrack the moment that it is verified from the racecourse.
Scott was reacting to our ‘Poor Show’ editorial which was published following punter reaction to an objection in the Fairview first race on Friday.
Despite commentator Bumpie Schoeman advising a race review in progress, no information was forthcoming until the official result was noted to be different from the provisional finish.
Angry punters contacted the Sporting Post to query the lack of transparency and information.
“At the outset, please allow me to take full responsibility for what happened with this breakdown in our communication. I must accept that failures on the part of my personnel are my own. I have done a brief investigation and it appears that our information flow process may have broken down at the point of our on-course production unit. I must assure our viewers that we have regular meetings with the NHA and have a system in place that works well – most of the time. Given the volumes, errors and oversights are regrettably inevitable,” he said.
Scott would not be drawn on apportioning blame to any individual but refuted suggestions that there was no accountability in the system. “This is a corporate environment and where an employee is found to have failed to carry out their job function, believe me we will take whatever corrective and disciplinary action that may be required. Service delivery is a top priority and when I took on this job, I did so in the quest to make a positive contribution to the sport that we all love so much,” he said.
Phumelela announced in April last year that Rob Scott had been appointed as the new CEO of Tellytrack.
A man who hails from a well-known SA horseracing family, he has made a positive impression so far with his open-door approach and innovation, which includes exciting developments at the Rivonia HQ.
