Team Racing Concept For KZN

Happening in Durban in August and September.

Bigger, bolder and better than before, Global Team Horse Racing (GTH), a team-based thoroughbred horse racing product which is fast-paced and offers thrilling entertainment and fun for families, is back with a full racing series in 2022.

The developers and partners are making this announcement hot on the heels of the unbridled success of the full-scale trial that took place in Durban last year.

Global Team Horse Racing has partnered with local operator Gold Circle who manage the Hollywoodbets Greyville racecourse in Durban as well as the Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.

Gold Circle has added the additional four races to the official racing calendar and will ensure that the races abide by all the official NHRA rules and regulations.

GTH Racing will fund the additional stakes required to ensure that horse owners vie for the opportunity to participate in this new team-based concept.

A product more than five years in the making, GTH Racing has secured the next round of funding required to stage a full event series in South Africa this year.

The world-wide premier of a Global Team Horse Racing series is set to take place in Durban in August and September.

The series will run under lights over four weeks and is expected to attract thousands of fans, celebrities, and horse racing glitterati.

The events will be run in a high-octane two-hour event packed full of thrilling races, world class entertainment, picnic areas and a large kiddie’s entertainment area for the younger fans, set right at the track side.

“Significant sponsorship has been secured already and a radio partnership agreement with East Coast Radio will keep locals up to speed on exciting announcements as the events draw closer,” says Angus Campbell who heads up the GTH Racing team locally, “we are also pleased to announce that the full two-hour event will also be broadcast live on SuperSport as well as other digital streaming channels.”
