Team Gold To Celebrate Freedom Day

First race off at 12h40

Racing today Freedom Day is on the Turffontein Inside course and eight races are carded.

The first is due off at 12h40 with the lucky last set for 16h35.

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren saddles Cosmic Star in Race 5. He was ultra-impressive when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking.

He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.

The son of Erupt takes on stronger, but he looks to be above average and should be up to the task at hand.

Team Gold from the Roy Magner stable represents decent each way value in Race 7. He finished 0.75 lengths behind Forever Mine last time.

He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times, finished second three times and third once from eight starts on this course.

The son of Twice Over jumps from pole position and on best form shown, he can return to winning ways.

Nathan Klink will not be riding today.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h40
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h15
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h50
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h25
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 15h05
