Team Gold Can Shine Today

First is off at 12h15

Turffontein hosts an eight-race programme on the Inside course. The first is due off at 12h15 and the lucky last is set for 16h25.

Trainer Roy Magner saddles Team Gold in Race 7 and he looks the best bet on the card.

He was an impressive winner of his last start over 1500m on this course.

The manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the field was eye-catching. He has finished third twice from as many starts over this distance. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and the combination can follow up.

Dark Travel from the Brett Webber yard takes her place in Race 6. She was settled near the rear of the field in her last start over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course, but finished her race off nicely. She was reported to be coughing that day.

She has won once, finished second once and third three times from seven starts on this course. She has finished third in her only attempt over this course and distance and from pole position, she can notch her fourth career victory.

Jockey Keagan de Melo is not riding today.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h15
