This sale offers would be buyers the chance to acquire proven racing stock, exciting untested prospects, high-class fillies and mares, and potential broodmares.

An added incentive to attend this auction is that a number of horses on offer include the filly currently on top of the log for the Gold Rush 1 race as well as a number of prospects who are potential Gold Rush 2 contenders.

Below is a brief overview of each lot on sale:

Lot 1 Bebop

This winning mare looks to be a very attractive broodmare prospect. Not only is she a daughter of multiple Equus champion and hugely successful sire What A Winter, but Bebop is a half-sister to the Tarry trained July winner, and Equus Champion, Heavy Metal.

Lot 2 Caralluma

This mare holds appeal as both a racing and breeding prospect. A high-class two-year-old who won the Listed Devon Air Stakes and finished second in the Gr2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper, Caralluma recently showed her well being when winning at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

Lot 3 Desert Pride

Like Caralluma, this mare is a daughter of July winner and successful sire Pomodoro. Not only has she won twice, but as a half-sister to Gr2 Golden Slipper winner Desert Rhythm, she holds plenty of appeal as a broodmare prospect. This time last year, Desert Pride was rated in the mid 80’s, and she has dropped down to a very feasible and dangerous mark of 57, should she regain any of her earlier form.

Lot 4 Double Martini

This Twice Over gelding has been in fine form of late, and won two in a row before finishing a close up fifth last time out. His two back to back wins came on the grass, but his last run was on poly. It seems as though he prefers the turf. Double Martini is a gelding who has dropped from an 82 down to a 60 but has regained his form and has won three of his last seven, and he now finds himself in the mid 70s which keeps him very competitive.

Lot 5 Dual At Dawn

A son of Pomodoro, Dual At Dawn showed tremendous promise early on, finishing second on debut before reeling off two wins in a row.

Lot 6 Earl

Earl has already won three times, from 1600m to 1800m, and has been placed up to 2000m. He caught the eye when finishing second to the classy Airways Law recently and that form was franked when Airways Law went on to win the Gr3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial and finish sixth in the Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Lot 7 Ecstatic Green

A speedy daughter of Gimmethegreenlight, Ecstatic Green showed top-class form early in her career when she won the Gr2 Prosport International Debutante and finished second, ahead of War Of Athena, in the Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship. Ecstatic Green again caught the eye when she finished second, in her most recent start, in the Gr2 East Coast Radio Tibouchina Stakes, where her beaten rivals included Gr1 winner Zarina and subsequent Gr2 Gold Bracelet winner Marina.

She has the pedigree to match her ability, as she hails from the same female line as Triple Crown winner Malmoos, hot sire Master Of My Fate and champions Kings Gambit, London News and Promisefrommyheart to name a few.

Lot 8 Escape Artist

From the wonderful “E” family, Escape Artist showed smart form winning three times and she was beaten less than two lengths when a close up fourth at her penultimate start. She has plenty of upside as both a racing and broodmare prospect. Ignore her last run as she was cut into badly. She is back in full work.

Lot 9 Eskimo Pie

Out of a five time winning daughter of Gr1 winner Divided Loyalty, this four time winner has very smart form over 1600m and caught the eye three starts back when beaten less than a length and a quarter by the winner.

Lot 10 Fisher King

A half-brother to SA Derby winner Hero’s Honour, this gelding caught the eye when finishing third, beaten less than three lengths, in this year’s Got The Greenlight KwaZulu-Natal Breeders 1600.

Lot 11 He’smakingeyesatme

A winner over 2000m, this filly is bred on the same Greys Inn/National Emblem cross as the former Tarry trained champion Legal Eagle.

Lot 12 Hotchiwitchi

This mare began her career with great promise, finishing third on debut before reeling off two wins in a row. Lightly raced for a five-year-old, she is on a mark which suggests she can win again soon.

Lot 13 Hydrangea

She is bred to be an attractive stud prospect, as a daughter of champion sire Gimmethegreenlight and a three time winning daughter of top US sire Dixieland Band.

Lot 14 Immeasurable

This son of Pomodoro looks a winner in the making, with Immeasurable having finished second or third in each of his last three starts.

Lot 15 In Cahoots

A half-brother to the graded stakes winners Under Your Spell and Witchcraft, this gelding finished a close up second just a few starts back, and should be more than capable of winning again off his current rating.

Lot 16 Indlamu

A half-brother to Gr1 TAB The Premier’s Champions Challenge winner Astrix,  Indlamu ended last season when finishing third in the Listed Marshalls World Of Sport Darley Arabian, where he was beaten less than four lengths, and he looks to have more wins in him. ( It is interesting to note that Astrix went on to greater things when tried over distance and Indlamu still has that opportunity ahead of him.)

Lot 17 La Luvia

She has paddock value already, with La Luvia having won twice and finishing third in the Gr3 Yellowwood Handicap. By champion Soft Falling Rain and out of a mare by Captain Al, La Luvia is from the family of top class sprinter Knife Edge.

Lot 18  Lights Camera

A daughter of champion sire Gimmethegreenlight, she is from the family of the Tarry trained Gr1 winners For The Lads and Heavy Metal to name but two.

Runner up in the Gr3 Strelitizia, this speedy daughter of Querari has a very attractive pedigree with her stakes placed dam a half-sister to Gr1 winners Viva Maria and Warrior’s Rest.

Lot 24 Social Image

Runner up in the Listed Storm Bird Stakes, this daughter of Pomodoro hails from the same female line as last season’s Gr1 Mercury Sprint runner up William Robertson and R8.5 million earner Illuminator to name but two.

Lot 25 Track Commander

A close up third at Hollywoodbets Greyville (on turf, and he prefers the polytrack) last time out, this son of Gimmethegreenlight looks sure to win again soon!

Lot 26 Twice The Trip

Winner of the Listed Devon Air Stakes at two, this daughter of Twice Over, and relative of Abashiri and Yard-Arm, recently bounced back to win at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and she has upside as both a racing and breeding prospect.

Lot 27 Victoria Paige

From the immediate family of Breeders’ Cup winner Wuheida, this daughter of Captain Al showed top-class form at two and three, with her past runs including runner up efforts in both the Gr2 Gold Bracelet and Gr3 Three Troikas Stakes.

Lot 28 Wokonda

Fifth in The Lady’s Stakes last time out, this daughter of Captain Of All has already won three times up to 1500 metres. Beat Humdinger comfortably a few starts back, and Humdinger went on to frank that form when she won the Listed Off To Stud Stakes.

Lot 29 Yours Truly

She looks an appealing broodmare prospect, as a daughter of prominent sire Vercingetorix and Oaks Trial winner Salutation.

Lot 30 Celtic Rumours

This filly, who qualifies for the Gold Rush 1, is a Vercingetorix half-sister to Swallow Stakes winner Sarah and she hails from the same female line as champion fillies Mother Russia and Nother Russia.
