Tarry At Full Velocity

Klawervlei bred filly a model of consistency

While multiple SA Champion trainer Sean Tarry is a distant third behind Paul Peter and Justin Snaith on the national log, the Randjesfontein conditioner enjoyed a terrific weekend with four winners, including a feature treble incorporating his first SA Triple Tiara.

Tarry was rampant at Turffontein on Saturday when Rain In Holland won the Wilgerbosdrift Gr2 SA Oaks and Equus Champion Stayer Nebraas found his best form to score in the Gr3 WSB R10 000 1st Deposit Match Caradoc Gold Cup.

On Sunday, Tarry sent the Philanthropist filly Full Velocity out in the Hollywood Syndicate silks for an impressive victory in the R110 000 Listed KwaZulu-Natal Stakes at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

Starting a popular 18-10 favourite under the in-form Keagan de Melo, Full Velocity was relaxed early on and turned on the jets in the straight to beat the Cape challenger Favorita by 1,50 lengths in a time of 59,16 secs.

The grey Varvacious (25-1) was a further 1,10 lengths back in third.

The winner was bred by Klawervlei and is by the Kris S stallion Philanthropist out of the twice winning Sebring mare, Circle Of Speed.
