On paper that’s our simple conclusion that Cape champion 3yo Variety Club will win the Winter Guineas
Variety Club is well in at the weights in the Cape Derby, but the dark horse of the race is Jackson.

Silver Flyer may have upped his game by a notch or two since being fitted with blinkers and can follow up on his impressive recent display in the Gr2 Dingaans by winning the Cape Guineas.
Variety Club underlined his status as one of the best three-year-old milers around and entrenched himself as a leading Guineas prospect when he narrowly won the Selangor Cup over 1600m on the Kenilworth winter course on Sunday.
Variety Club showed his elders (and one fellow sophomore) a clean pair of heels to land the spoils in good style.
