Although the outbreak has remained largely sub-clinical, a number of new properties and cases have been identified in Robertson. The cases continue to prohibit the movement of horses into the AHS surveillance and free zone from Robertson and surrounds and the public is urged not to move horses in and around the Robertson area unnecessarily.
The 2014 African Horse Sickness outbreak has now affected a total of 28 properties in the Western Cape. The outbreak has extended to the Tulbagh and Piketberg areas and there are now a total 74 confirmed cases and 11 confirmed deaths
