Follow Van Vuuren For Fun

The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h45

Turffontein Racecourse plays host to an eight-race programme on the Inside course this afternoon.

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren saddles six runners on the day, a few of which have a decent chance of winning and must be followed.

The first race is due off at 12h45.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Bon Vivant takes her place in Race 2 and is the PA Banker on the card. She produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course.

She had to be steadied at the 350m mark that day, but ran on well at the finish.

The daughter of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Erico Verdonese saddles Nordic Rebel in Race 7. He has some decent recent form lines to his credit. He finished 1.7 lengths behind The Contractor in his penultimate start.

He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.

Nordic Rebel will race with a compression mask on today.

The false rail is at 6,5m on the back straight to 7,5m on the bend with a 9,5m spur at the 500m mark.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
