Who Will Ride Rainbow Bridge In Met?

Bernie switches to Oh Susanna

The ride on L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate third placer Rainbow Bridge in the Sun Met looks to be up for grabs after Snaith Racing tweeted that Bernard Fayd’herbe had been engaged to ride their SA Horse Of The Year Oh Susanna.

With Richard Fourie’s commitments to the Snaiths, Fayd’herbe has been aboard at Rainbow Bridge’s last four starts.

The son of Ideal World appeared to have every chance on Saturday, but failed to make up the ground to catch the rampant Do It Again and the exciting 3yo, Soqrat.

Oh Susanna should carry 57kg in the Met which is going to be a sweat in more ways than one for the top heavyweight rider.

However Fayd’herbe did make 56.5kg when finishing third on Elusive Silva for the same employers in last year’s Vodacom July, so it is within his compass on the big occasion.

Fayd’herbe was aboard when Oh Susanna won on debut.

Richard Fourie rode Oh Susanna in the Cartier Paddock Stakes on Saturday, but has stuck with Queen’s Plate winner Do It Again, who is now the highest rated horse in the country at 125.

Fayd’Herbe left for Dubai on Tuesday, but will return for the big race on 26 January

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
