Summer Cup Entry Preps Today At Vaal

First due off @ 12h15

An eight-race programme has been carded at the Vaal this afternoon. The first is due off at 12h15 with the lucky last set for 16h20.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge on this racemeeting.

One of 42 Betway Summer Cup entries received on Wednesday, Pomodoro’s Jet from the Brett Crawford stable takes his place in Race 7.

He ran a fair race in the Grade 3 SplashOut 2200 last time.

He returns from a 14-week break and is having his first run this season. He has won over this distance previously.

The 6yo gelding runs well for Craig Zackey and if not in need of the run, he should be too good for this field.

Trainer Weichong Marwing sends out American Rebel in Race 5.

He was unlucky not to have won his last start over 1800m on the Classic course. He had no clear run up the straight.

He finished third in his penultimate run over this distance.

He takes a slight drop in class and with luck in running, he can return to winning ways.

  • Race: 1 – #4 BIG BOY BRUCE had a 443 day break due to a change of stable yards
  • Race: 8 – #9 TREE FAIRY had a 413 day break due to recovering from an injury

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
