Starting All Over Today

The first is off at 12h40

The clocks are turned back to zero, and it’s all about starting over. The first meeting of the 2022/2023 season takes place on the polytrack at Fairview Racecourse. Jockey S’manga Khumalo will do duty for Alan Greeff and the combination are worth following throughout the day.

The first is due off at 12h40.

S’Manga Khumalo rides Bold Resolve (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

Bold Resolve takes his place in Race 4 and he is the best bet on the programme. He has good recent form lines to his credit. He was running on too late when second over this course and distance last time.

The 5yo gelding has cracked a good draw of two and with S’Manga Khumalo in the saddle, he can return to winning ways. Mrs Hotline may be the horse to close off the meeting.

She took on stronger company in her last start over this course and distance. Her penultimate run when finishing third over 1300m on this course was encouraging.

The 13-week break would have done her the world of good. She takes a
drop in class, races well fresh and should find herself in the winners enclosure.
