Not only did Firth Of Lorne’s grandson Cascadian (New Approach) win Saturday’s Gr1 Schweppes All Aged Stakes at Randwick, her four-year-old son Master Of The Seas (Dubawi) downed a high-class field, including South African dual graded stakes winner Catch Twentytwo (Elusive Fort), when victorious in last Wednesday’s Gr3 bet365 Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket.

Cascadian, who is out of Firth Of Lorne’s Gr3 UAE Oaks winning daughter Falls Of Lora (Street Cry), was making it Gr1 win number two, with the New Approach seven-year-old having also triumphed in the 2021 Gr1 The Star Doncaster Mile.

Cascadian is a half-brother to Gr1 Summer Stakes winner Albahr -who, like Master Of The Seas, was sired by Dubawi.

His close relative Master Of The Seas, who has been gelded, made it group win number three with his Earl Of Sefton victory, with the four-year-old having previously captured the 2020 G2 bet365 Superlative Stakes and last year’s Gr3 bet 365Craven Stakes.

Master Of The Seas also went close to providing his family with a notable classic success, finishing a short-head second in the 2021 Gr1 Qipco 2000 Guineas.

Firth Of Lorne was a high-class racemare, with the Danehill daughter of Gr3 Cherry Hinton Stakes queen Kerrera capturing the Listed Prix des Sablonnets before finishing second in the following year’s Gr1 Poule des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas).

Not only is Firth Of Lorne dam of Master Of The Seas and Falls Of Lora, but she is also responsible for the stakes winners Etive (Elusive Quality) and Latharnach (Iffraaj).

Her dam Kerrera (Diesis), a half-sister to Gr2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Rock City (Ballad Rock) is also the dam of top-class broodmare June Moon (Sadler’s Wells) -dam of former Cape sire, and German 2000/Italian 2000 Guineas victor Dupont (Zafonic) and the latter’s German 2000 Guineas winning full-brother Pacino.
