SplashOut Into A Likely Pool Of R3 Million

First due off @ 12h10

All eyes will be on Hollywoodbets Kenilworth today for the 2025 Seafood & Jazz Racing Festival, which forms the backdrop to some outstanding racing, including the highly anticipated SplashOut Gr1 Cape Derby.

The first of the day’s nine-race programme is due off at 12h10, with a R500 000 Pick 6 carryover and a likely pool of R3 million.

Eight On Eighteen from the Justin Snaith stable takes his place in the SplashOut Gr1 Cape Derby.

He was given a peach of a ride when winning the World Sports Betting Gr1 Cape Town Met last time. He ran on well that day and snuck up the inside running rail.

The son of Lancaster Bomber is the class horse in this contest, and he should take a power of beating.

Trainer Vaughan Marshall sends out Oni San in the lucky last and she represents decent each way value.

She stayed on when fifth in the Non-Black Type The Clapham Stakes last time. The daughter of Danon Platina should be ideally suited to this distance.

She takes a drop in class and the booking of Grant van Niekerk is a big plus. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of seven, she can return to winning ways.
