Spies Lightning To Strike At Vaal

First race is off at 12h15

Racing takes place at the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon and eight races are carded. Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge with the first due off at 12h15.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Corne Spies sends out Green Lightning in Race 4. She has produced two good efforts to date.

She showed pace over this course and distance last time but found one too good in the form of Just The Two Of Us.

The daughter of Potala Palace carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and she should give the males a run for their money.

Leeson from the Corrie Lensley stable takes his place in Race 6. He is better than his last start over 2400m as he raced wide around the turn.

It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He won his only attempt over this course and distance.

Craig Zackey is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Diego de Gouveia is not riding today.

Race 4 No 8 CARTAGENA had a 299 day break due to recovering from a pulled muscle.

Race 7 No 4 DUKE OF SUSSEX had a 140 day break due to being rested.
