Southeaster Winner Blows To A 111

The NHA ratings

The Azzie-trained Kiss Me Captain has had her merit rating raised from 109 to 111 by the NHA handicappers after winning the Listed Southeaster Sprint (handicap) run over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday.

The Handicappers believed that 2nd placed COUNTDOWN made for the most suitable line horse, leaving him unchanged on a mark of 107.

When deciding on a line horse, the Handicappers considered that KWINTA’S LIGHT was unable to secure a clear run at the 300m mark and MR COBBS had to switch in for a clear run at the 150m mark, and deemed them to be unsuitable line horses.

Two horses were given drops.  Last year’s winner, RESONATE was dropped from 110 to 108, and TEMPTING FATE was dropped from 107 to 105.
