Karangetang from the Johan Janse van Vuuren yard takes his place in Race 2. He was touched off in the Non-Black Type WSB Sophomore 1000 last time.

It must be noted that Taikonaut has come out and won again since. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this distance. The pacifiers seem to have done the trick and, in this line-up, he can notch up his third career victory.

Trainer Lucky Houdalakis saddles Captain Chorus in Race 5. He finished 0.85 lengths behind White Fang last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Three of his five career victories have come over this distance and with a bit of luck in running, he can return to winning ways.

Please note that D De Gouveia will note be riding today
