Snaith Star Out Of Hollywoodbets Durban July

Disappointment for racing fans

Justin Snaith’s WSB Cape Guineas winner Double Superlative has suffered a tendon injury and will not run in the Gr1 Daily News 2000 or Hollywoodbets Durban July.

After placing in the Cape Town Met and Cape Derby, Double Superlative ran a cracker in his Gr2 WSB Guineas pipe opener when flying late from a wide draw to run just 1,55 lengths off Zapatillas a fortnight ago.

Described as a horse that is something of a ringer for the stable’s July double winner and recent WSB 1900 hero Do It Again, Double Superlative was bred by Patrica Devine Investments and, like Do It Again, is by Klawervlei sire Twice Over (Observatory).

Double Superlative’s unfortunate news comes just a day after Sean Tarry announced that his SA Triple Tiara star Rain In Holland would not run again this term as she requires corrective surgery.

The Daily News 2000 and Hollywoodbets Durban July ante-post betting has been adjusted.
