Justin Snaith – many chances today (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)
Trainer Justin Snaith will have a very busy day and he can start on a winning note with Peut Etre Moi in the opener. She should have won her last start over this course and distance. She was settled near the rear of the field, had to switch at the 400m mark and ran on strongly to finish second.
The daughter of Master Of My Fate jumps from a midfield draw and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should take a power of beating under Smanga Khumalo.
Captain Dizzy from the Piet Botha stable represents decent each way value in Race 3. He has been taking on stronger company in recent outings. He showed good speed over 1200m last time and tired late. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since.
Don’t miss the free-to-enter Punters’ Challenge!
He has won once, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this course and distance. The son of Captain Of All takes a drop in class and can return to winning ways.
The main event on the day is a small, but competitive field. Kommetdieding from the Harold Crawford and Michelle Rix yard has had the perfect preparation heading into this race.
He did his best work late when finishing third in the Non-Black Type Cape Mile and his run in the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate last time was even more encouraging. He will come into this race at peak fitness and from pole position, he should be the one to beat.
