Snaith Announces Hollywoodbets Durban July Jockeys

Top trainer sets the big race plan in motion

Winning Form-sponsored jockey Richard Fourie had the pick of five Justin Snaith-trained horses still standing in the Gr 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July entry list.

Gold Circle report that he opted for the Nick Jonsson-owned Without Question, who finished an eyecatching third to July favourite See It Again in the recent Gr 1 Daily News 2000 at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, having earlier finished third to See It Again and Charles Dickens in the Gr1 Splashout Cape Derby before winning the Gr 3 WSB Variety Club Mile at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth in impressive fashion.

The son of The United States  has shortened into 7/1 joint second favourite with the sponsor upon the news of Fourie taking the ride.

In other big news Gavin Lerena lands the ride on Do It Again, who needs no introduction.

The beloved eight-year-old Twice Over gelding has the best July record in history and will be the first horse in history to line up in the big race six times.

He will be dangerous off a 121 merit rating, which will see him carrying just 57kg, and is a 25/1 shot with the sponsor to make more history by becoming the first to win the Durban July three times.

Grant van Niekerk has landed a good ride on progressive four-year-old Pacaya. The Trippi gelding is prominent at 8/1 with the sponsor.

Bernard Fayd’herbe will be aboard the enigmatic Pomp And Power. The talented but quirky four-year-old Vercingetorix gelding is 16/1 with the sponsor.

JP van der Merwe will be aboard last year’s Gr 1 Woolavington 2000 winner Silver Darling.
