Smith’s King Could Be Flying Today

First due off @ 12h40

Today’s local racemeeting at Fairview previously carded on the turf track has been moved to the polytrack. There are two feature events on this card – the Listed East Cape Oaks and the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h40.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Gavin Smith sends out Kingdundee in Race 7, the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards in the final 250m. His penultimate run when winning over this distance on the turf was super impressive.

The son of The United States is having his peak run and with Craig Zackey back in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.

Champonelle from the Cliffie Miller stable may be the horse to close off the meeting. He has produced two good second place finishes since winning his maiden.

He finished 0.25 lengths behind Sweet And True last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

It is encouraging that Marco van Rensburg steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
