Small Fields – But Tricky!

First off at 12h15

The new week starts off with an eight-race programme at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the polytrack.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge and the first is due off at 12h15.

The Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge is now run on all local racemeetings, as well as on Singapore and Hong Kong fixtures.

The new Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge prize payouts formulae means that besides the R5 000 daily must-be-won prize, which is allocated to the top 20 finishers on the leaderboard for every challenge race meeting, the all-or-nothing 100% clean sheet jackpot prize will now be determined by the number of runners at the race meeting,  multiplied by R10 000 per unit, for all venues.

For example, there are currently 67 starters for today’s Hollywoodbets Greyville racemeeting. At R10 000 per starter, the jackpot prize will be R670 000.

And as an added incentive, every player who wagers R50 or more on the Bet Slip generated by the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge entry, will automatically have their potential winning payout from the competition, doubled!

So now today’s jackpot is potentially R1 340 000!

An added fun sub-competition was introduced on Saturday with the faces and voices of South African racing taking each other on every day for some nice cash prizes in the Racing Stars challenge. The professionals will be on the main leaderboard, so it’s you chance to make a statement and take the big guns on!

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Duncan Howells saddles Purple Operator in Race 6.

He stayed on when fifth over 1000m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.

Purple Operator has plenty in his favour today (Pic -Candiese Lenferna)

He has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this course and distance. The son of Captain Of All jumps from pole position and is the horse to beat.

Petit Verdot from the Garth Puller stable represents decent each way value in the lucky last.

She was her own worst enemy over 1200m on this course last time as she over raced in the early stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

The daughter of What A Winter tries the mile and if Serino Moodley is able to switch her off early, she may be the one to beat in weaker company.

Jockey Smanga Khumalo is not riding today.
