Singapore this Friday

Friday - 8 June

An all-Polytrack 10 race card from Singapore on Friday and while the battlers have their usually say at a meeting like this, a Progress and Class 3 sprint make for some very interesting racing in races five and eight respectively.
MASTHEAD – who heads the ratings in the Progress event over 1200m – arrived in Singapore with big wraps after matching with some quality young horses in Australia and showed the hype was justified winning his first two starts at Kranji.
A run against ROCKET MAN put paid to his unbeaten streak in Singapore and while finding the smart SPEEDY CAT too good at his next outing, the effort was good enough to think he wins this given the race conditions see him some 8.5kg better off than his nearest rival.
And while a few keep him honest – VALEVOLE for Pat Shaw, NO RESPITE for Shane Baertschiger and IRISH COFFEE for Steve Burridge – anything but a win would be disappointing for connections.
In the Class 3 sprint over 1200m, CASH DOT COM looks ideally placed to make it back-to-back wins.
His last start win was in a similar Kranji Stakes C affair and the fact that Jose Verenzuela stays on board and he gets to jump from the same gate – one – suggests he can dictate terms and is the one to beat.
But there are a few horses that look perfectly set to show their best today including the Pat Shaw-trained DAMO and the in-form and improving EMBLESSED who is shooting for win number four from his last five starts!
Elsewhere on the card a tricky Restricted Maiden (race 2) is worth a look with some seven newcomers – most of whom have shown something at the trials – taking part.
GOODPACK and SPICY CAT look the best of those having their first run but with just 49.5kg to carry at the WFA conditions, the only 2YO in the race, DRAGON LUCK, is certainly worth a ticket or two.

.

Best Bets; MASTHEAD (race 5, win), AGENIAS (race 7, win) and ANAVILA (race 3, each-way).
Bankers for Jackpots: Race 7 (3) race 8 (1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9), race 9 (1, 4, 11, 12 and 13) and race 10 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10).

Race 1

Selections; 9 SILVER LEGEND – 5 LUCKY BANKER – 2 VANQUISH – 6 RAPID REWARDS
An event featuring a large number of speedy horses who have difficulty finishing off their races. If CARNIVAL STAR gets a start he is lengths better than these at his best and can run a strong 1200m, not just struggle over the 1000m like most of the runners. Likewise the other emergency, the gallant LUCKY SUN from his ace draw will be sure to be cutting them down late as fast as his old legs will carry him. Amongst the guaranteed starters, SILVER LEGEND – who took an age to break his maiden status – is in form the 1000m suits and can win again with Barend Vorster on board. LUCKY BANKER is a proven performer running into form and with the advantage of the claim for HK Cheng he should be able to get a sit on the speedsters and be strong in the run home. VANQUISH is another who gets back, but this type of race suits him and with the speed likely to be on from the outset, he will be powering home. Of the speedsters RAPID REWARDS is still a maiden, and regularly gets run down late, once again he is well drawn and with Alan Munro steering should be in the firing line for a very long way. SWITCH DOUBLEMISTY is another maiden with plenty of speed who cannot be discounted. WHYDOYOUASK is well down in the weights and this distance suits, he can go forward or take a sit, and with the in-form Ivaldo Santana on top could find himself in the finish. As with all Class 5’s very few can be ruled out and for the exotics both MIDLIFE CRISIS which can run on and the enigmatic mare JEWEL PRINCESS deserve some consideration.

.
1 CALIFORNIA KID * Speedy type who has been fading in his races. Claim helps and blinkers back on but outside draw of no assistance. 20
2 VANQUISH *** Suited this class and surface. Drawn wide but he gets back and should be running on late. 6.50
3 LUCKY TWENTY THREE ** Maiden unplaced in eight starts, resuming and dropping back in distance. Placed in a trial recently and with senior jockey and good draw could show up while fresh. 20
4 MIDLIFE CRISIS ** Gets a long way back and can run on strongly as he showed last start, but will need some luck. 14
5 LUCKY BANKER *** Good effort from wide barrier last start. Six time winner, twice on poly, who third run back from a let-up will be hard to hold out if he can get a nice run on the pace. 4.50
6 RAPID REWARDS *** Speedy horse well drawn, who will give a bold sight but vulnerable to being run down. Remains a maiden after 15 starts, but placed 5 out of 8 on the poly. 3.00
7 URBAN LEGEND * Done nothing in 10 starts. No legend. 33
8 SWITCH DOUBLEMISTY ** Speedy maiden with a tough draw. Should be on the pace but vulnerable late. 16
9 SILVER LEGEND *** Finally cracked it three starts back and two subsequent runs have been OK. This surface and distance suits and better drawn than some of the other front-runners – can win again. 6.50
10 DECISIVE * Will race near the lead but stops quickly. 50
11 JEWEL PRINCESS ** Moody mare who wasn’t far away at her last start, has been freshened and could threaten in this weak field with blinkers added but must be taken on trust. 16
12 WHYDOYOUASK ** Well down in the weights and could get a sit and run on well here. Suited this trip and not without a chance. 16
13 CARNIVAL STAR *** First run in Class 5 a tad disappointing but on his day much better and stronger than these. If he gets a run should be hard to beat. 3.00
14 LUCKY SUN *** Iron horse fronting up for start number 112. In good form and if he gets a start will be flying late. 6.50

.

Race 2

Selections; 4 GOODPACK – 11 DRAGON LUCK – 8 AMERICAN GLADIATOR – 6 SECONDWAVE
The race becomes a lottery with so many first starters up against a few that have shown little. GOODPACK is from the powerful Leslie Khoo stable, he is well bred, has trialed well and Jose Verenzuela has been engaged to ride. The stable is not frightened to back them when they think they have a winning chance so the market should be a good guide. The 2YO DRAGON LUCK has also trialed well, has no weight and is well drawn – it is about this time that the WFA scale starts to tilt in favour of the 2YO’s against the older horses. AMERICAN GLADIATOR got caught wide on the turf last start, his previous run on the Poly was sound and if he can get near the lead he should race well. There was plenty of support for SCARLET STAR last start when Moreira rode him, he finished a fair way back but was not disgraced and has trialed subsequently. With KB Soo to steer and the experience under his belt he should race well. Of the others, apart from BREATH OF SUCCESS who has been trying for a while, little is known though SPICY CAT and SECOND WAVE have done enough to elicit some interest on debut.

.
1 BREATHOFSUCCESS * Hasn’t shown a lot in 6 starts but has experience on his side. 50
2 ASCLEPIUS ** Won trial in slow time. Top rider engaged but awkwardly drawn and prefer to see. 6.00
3 DROGO * Not a lot at trials. No. 50
4 GOODPACK *** By Elvstroem. Won both his trials. Likely type from strong stable with good jockey. Watch market but should go close on debut. 3.00
5 SCARLET STAR *** Well supported and not disgraced at first start, subsequently trialed well and should be improved. 4.50
6 SECONDWAVE ** Trials have been OK and could show up without surprising. 14
7 SPICY CAT *** Trialed nicely and well drawn. Watch for support and another who can win on debut. 6.50
8 AMERICAN GLADIATOR *** Was caught wide on turf last start and faded. Previous effort on Poly was sound and if he can get near the lead, should race well. 6.50
9 BLUE LAGOON * Had some support last start and failed. Will want longer. 20
10 CODE RED ** Well drawn, trials OK with market a good guide. 20
11 DRAGON LUCK *** Two year old with no weight and a good draw. Won a trial and could give a bold sight. 6.50

.

Race 3

Selections; 2 ANAVILA – 8 ZAC HEAVEN – 1 PERWIRA – 3 BM WIN
Some very consistent Class 4 performers do battle here over the 1000m on the Poly. ANAVILA is not getting any younger but he never runs a bad race in this Class, on the Poly, and over this distance. ZAC HEAVEN smashed them two starts back with Barend Vorster on top and was not disgraced last start with a claiming apprentice. Reverting to Vorster will ensure greater strength in the finish and that may be what is required. PERWIRA is another consistent performer in this Class, his two runs since resuming from a bleeding attack have been sound and he should be ready to show his best. BM WIN is a model of consistency in this Class on the Polytrack; he just cannot seem to win. Opie Bosson and barrier one can change his luck. WHIRLRUNNER is down in the weights, he has been caught wide at his last two starts, from the good barrier he should be able to get cover just behind the speed and run on strongly. Two crocks on the way back, TOP PRIORITY and THAT’S GOLD are just getting back into it after long lay-offs but both have considerable ability when right. All of ACE ARMANDO’s recent form is on turf, but he did win his very first start on the Polytrack and he could surprise.

.
1 PERWIRA *** Good, consistent horse in this class who was not beaten by much last start at second run after a bleeding attack. Should run a bold race. 5.00
2 ANAVILA *** Very honest veteran who rarely runs a bad race in this Class, suited this surface and distance and from the good draw bound to make his presence felt. 4.00
3 BM WIN *** Won at his first start and has been in the top four in six starts since without winning, all on the Polytrack. Opie Bosson and the ace draw might make the difference. 3.80
4 THAT’S GOLD ** Speedster who has only won once but been placed 8 times from 10 starts on the Polytrack. Resuming and fresh with the 4kg claim could be in this for a long way. 12
5 ACE ARMANDO * Speedy type who was caught wide on turf at past two starts. Has won on the poly over this distance but that was nearly 3 years ago and wide gate suggests we wait. 16
6 LUCKY DIAMOND ** Probably prefers turf, but will get back and run on and excuses not to finish closer first up. 20
7 TOP PRIORITY * Beaten easily when resuming after 18 month layoff. Showed a lot of promise in earlier preparation and should be improved – watch market. 25
8 ZAC HEAVEN *** Won two starts back with Vorster up and not disgraced last start when ridden by claiming apprentice. Likes to run on the pace and should go well. 5.25
9 ALPHA DYNAMIC ** Another speedster, awkwardly drawn who likes to race near the lead. May find it tough from the draw but first run back was good. 25
10 WHIRLRUNNER ** Been caught wide last two starts, previously went back to back when he had inside draws. Bound to give some cheek. 14
11 TENTENWIN * Generally races well when he can get near the lead and has a soft run. This will be tough. 25
12 SINGLE STAR * Still a maiden. Looking for Class 5. 100

.

Race 4

Selections; 1 HIS MY IDOL – 11 STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN – 7 TERRA FIRMA – 3 WINNING SUCCESS
The usual tough Class 5 over a mile on the Polytrack with some important gear changes playing a big part in our selections. HIS MY IDOL rocketed home over 1000m last start – his first dropping back to Class 5 – 1600m is much more his caper and he should race very well with blinkers removed for this. His Class 4 form in similar affairs should see him hard to beat. STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN is way down in the weights, the blinkers go back on and his only two wins come with the headgear. Shafiq will claim, he is third run up from a spell, likes the distance and surface – he could be the value runner. TERRA FIRMA is a Maiden who has been racing well in this Class, and with Stephen Baster on top from a good alley he should be right in the finish with blinkers on a big move. WINNING SUCCESS raced well over a shorter journey last start and this is much more suitable – Sam Chua is a master in these Class 5’s and with the under-rated and in-form Matt Kellady to steer he should have every chance. The pacifiers go on REDDY TO ROCK, he was trapped wide last start and not disgraced, his previous Polytrack form was very good and he goes well for Jacky Low. As always with Class 5s there are others that could bob up such as DOUBLE DOSE if the pace is very solid and he can run home, ZAC GENERATION who will also run on from a mile back, and MESTI BOLEH who struggles to win but can often be the wild card in the exotics.

.
1 HIS MY IDOL *** Blinkers off and he did win without them a long time back, rocketed home over unsuitable distance last start, now up to a mile, should be the one to beat. 4.80
2 MESTI BOLEH ** Broke through two starts back but failed subsequently. Struggles to win but Fresh and can run the bold race and the mile suits. 12
3 WINNING SUCCESS *** Good effort last start and now on the quick back-up to a suitable distance, consistent performer who should race well from the good draw. 5.00
4 REDDY TO ROCK *** Pacifiers go on, trapped wide last start and not disgraced, previous Polytrack form very good and goes well for Jacky Low. Good chance. 5.00
5 FACE OFF ** Formerly Dynamic Master. Resuming and whilst competitive in this grade may need the run after drawing badly. 25
6 DRUMSARA * Beaten 17 lengths at only start on Polytrack. Hard to have. 33
7 TERRA FIRMA *** Maiden who has been running on well in similar affairs, track work has been good and from nice draw with top rider should go well with upgrade to blinkers. 6.00
8 ZAC GENERATION ** Gets a long way back and best form has been on turf, but certain to be running on at the end. 12
9 RECIPROCATE ** Generally runs on but rarely looks like winning – place at best from bad gate. 20
10 DOUBLE DOSE ** Honest one-pacer who needs things to go his way. Will appreciate a solid pace but wide draw an issue. 16
11 STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN *** Blinkers on and only wins have been with them on, suited this distance, well drawn, third run back from a spell and with Shafiq’s claim could be the knockout hope. 7.50
12 TRIPLE GOALS ** Disappointing performer who is usually thereabouts but lacks the turn of foot to win. 25
13 EXPECTATION * Maiden who is yet to show up in four starts. 50
14 GOLDEN LARK * Maiden resuming sans winkers, who has run some good races from time to time, but will need the outing. 25

.

Race 5

Selections; 2 MASTHEAD – 3 VALEVOLE – 5 NO RESPITE – 6 IRISH COFFEE
If ratings mean anything MASTHEAD should win this. He is rated 17 points higher than VALEVOLE the second highest rated horse in the field and meets him at level weights and all the others not much worse. MASTHEAD has been racing against better horses such as SPEEDY CAT and he should be too good, though there is that niggling doubt about him finishing off his races. Pat Shaw has got a strong hand with three runners and if MASTHEAD is vulnerable VALEVOLE is a very good horse with plenty of speed who has won twice on the Polytrack over 1200m. And whilst THE TUDOR is resuming after a long break, HARD STUFF with the blinkers removed is a dangerous performer though 1200m may test him. With likely carnage going on in front early, this could set it up for IRISH COFFEE, who has been running in Group company, but could get a nice sit here and run on strongly. Likewise NO RESPITE will be lurking at the rear and he too has a strong finish – watch at value.

.
1 TRY THE CHANCE ** Won 3 small races in England from 7 starts up to 1400 metres. Has had 6 barrier trials since March and could race well first up, but prefer to see. 12
2 MASTHEAD *** Unbeaten in two starts on the Poly and will find this easier than recent starts in Class 2 and Group company. Easily in best at the race conditions and should go close. 2.40
3 VALEVOLE *** Resumed from a break with good effort behind Birthday Gift. Has won three times on the Poly, has looked smart at the track and will race well again. 3.50
4 HARD STUFF ** Blinkers off, failed badly last start, but trialed well since. All 3 wins have been without blinkers on the Polytrack but has not won beyond 1100m. 6.50
5 NO RESPITE *** Last start better than the result and certainly showed enough this campaign to follow each way at value. 8.00
6 IRISH COFFEE *** Last three runs have been at Group level. Previous win four starts back was in this Class. Should race well. 5.50
7 THE TUDOR * Smart horse from last season resuming. Will need the run. 50
8 BOSS CAN I CAN * Not good enough for this company. 100
9 PRIME MOVER * Good effort last start, but this is tough and probably looking to drop a grade. 50

.

Race 6

Selections; 2 SAVILHRO – 1 MAGIC DIVA – 8 CONQUEROR – 6 KUKAI
We gave a couple of recent Class droppers – SAVILHRO and MAGIC DIVA – winning chances at their respective first runs back in this company but both let us down. In saying that both had tardy starts which looked costly so happy to follow again in what looks a fair Class 5 Poly sprint. SAVILRHO in particular blew his chances at the start from gate one but got home well enough to think he has plenty more to offer. R Shafiq claims 2kg and I expect a positive ride from gate 8 with a podium finish likely. MAGIC DIVA jumped from gate 12 last start and an awkward jump put paid to his hopes on that occasion. Connections will be hoping he gets away better today from the ace draw and if within striking distance come the business end he must be considered a big winning show. Of the rest I think CONQUEROR also appreciates the better gate today and can continue his terrific run of form with KUKAI and SUN ENTERPRISE also major players in what is an interesting Class 5 affair. Keep both emergencies very safe – both can win – if they get a start.

.
1 MAGIC DIVA *** Never in the hunt after bad jump last start back in this grade – can win this from inside alley. 8.00
2 SAVILHRO *** Bad start also costly last time out and will win in this grade – big show with 2kg claim. 3.00
3 GATEAWAY ** Disappointing with support two runs this company and while better than that we have to take on trust. 8.00
4 PLANCK TIME * Resuming and hard to consider. 100
5 SUN ENTERPRISE *** Placed at first run back and looks a solid each-way hope here. 8.00
6 KUKAI *** Will need to work early from wide gate but certainly can win a race like this on recent form. 4.00
7 THANKSGIVING * Easier to ignore. 100
8 CONQUEROR *** Excuses last start from wide gate so happy to ignore as winning form prior obviously gives him a say here from better draw. 5.00
9 STRIDE METEOR ** Turned around some hopeless form with a solid run and subsequent trial OK – watch market. 12
10 VERSAILLES PALACE ** Resuming after being disappointing with support last campaign – recent trials solid but have to take on trust. 33
11 ZWANZIG EIN * Battles away but prefer longer. 100
12 MR COOL MAN * Struggles. 200
13 PEGASUS VICTORY *** Will win in this grade again sooner than later – follow. 6.00
14 WONDER GENERAL *** Can lead and can win if on his game. 8.00

.

Race 7

Selections; 3 AGENAIS – 2 DARING FIGHTER – 1 BAY OF ISLAND – 4 THE CINDERELLA MAN
A small but competitive field but while you can make a winning case for more than a few, AGENAIS looks the one to be on. The David Hill-trained 4YO has been in terrific form in similar affairs and jockey Jose Verenzuela will ride him like a good thing in the small field and a strong win would not surprise. But these small fields can provide some oddly run races and one horse who may benefit is DARING FIGHTER. The NZ-bred 4YO has had issues with tardy starts but might just find himself close enough in the eight horse field to be a winning hope with best work always expected late. Obviously last start winner BAY OF ISLAND has to be respected with Laurie Laxon also having a say with two solid each-way types in THE CINDERELLA MAN and CHIEF SECRETARY.

.
1 BAY OF ISLAND *** In winning form and have to follow while in suitable races. 3.50
2 DARING FIGHTER *** Will always be doing best work late and some hope with small field in his favour. 8.00
3 AGENAIS *** In super form and looks the one the others have to beat. 2.50
4 THE CINDERELLA MAN ** Always a solid each-way option in races like this and today looks no exception. 6.00
5 CHIEF SECRETARY ** Yet another who is always a hope this type of race and keeps them honest late. 4.00
6 CARTAGO * Coming off a shocker but OK on his day with blinkers downgraded to winkers and gate one a bonus. 50
7 IRO OTOKO * Struggling of late. 40
8 BENGAWAN ** Never in the hunt last start and certainly competitive on previous good form with better gate in his favour. 40

.

Race 8

Selections; 5 CASH DOT COM – 7 DAMO – 9 EMBLESSED – 1 FUKU KITARU
A tricky affair with no real-standouts and most looking some hope for a top three finish. But while I had a second look at a few for the top pick, an easy option is CASH DOT COM who won last start in a similar affair to this. The fact he jumped from gate one on that occasion and has the same luxury in this race suggests Jose Verenzuela will be confident he can led, led well and win. DAMO also appeals with his run when blinkers added last start better than the result. He has won in this grade previously and looks ready to show his best with Greg Cheyne on board. Plenty of others to consider; EMBLESSED has been too impressive winning three of his last four starts not to be included somewhere and while he steps up in Class he does love this surface and has to be respected. FUKU KITARU, MACAU and RUN FOR THE HILLS are also in the winning mix.

.
1 FUKU KITARU *** Last start very good and can win this if any luck from wide gate. 5.00
2 MACAU *** Nothing to offer last start but previous form good enough to win this with market support likely. 8.00
3 RUN FOR THE HILLS *** Resuming sans blinkers and has enough pace to overcome bad gate and be in this a very long way. 5.00
4 SHAOLIN SOLDIER ** In form and pay to keep safe but does look a bet5ter winning option on the turf. 20
5 CASH DOT COM *** Made use of the ace draw to win similar affair last start and have to follow after drawing the paint again. 5.00
6 SUPERCZAR ** Can never discount but back in distance a concern. 40
7 DAMO *** Last run better than the result and gives this a big shake. 5.00
8 BE A MAN ** Blinkers off an interesting move and might just be flying late and add value to exotics. 50
9 EMBLESSED *** Up in Class but has been flying since breaking maiden status four starts back – follow. 6.00
10 RISING EXPECTATION ** Usually goes round at great value and thereabouts so worth a look on this surface. 20
11 PACINO ** Might be needing easier company to win but always trying his best. 30
12 BIG FORTUNE ** Competitive but wide gate makes winning tough. 40

.

Race 9

Selections; 1 MERLIN – 11 SILENT FAITH – 12 MY WAY – 4 REVERSE TAKEOVER
Unless the emergencies get a run there is not much to get excited about in this race and MERLIN looks the obvious choice. Although disappointing last time out – his first run dropping to Class 5 – his form in better company prior has him winning soon and won’t get a better chance than this. The race suits, the field is weak and all things being equal… Of the rest SILENT FAITH ensures a nice pace in the race and could be hard to catch if left to his own devices out front, REVERSE TAKEOVER is in form and goes close with any luck from the bad gate and MY WAY certainly has more to offer than he showed last Friday. As mentioned the two emergencies – OBLIVION and BERT – are serious winning threats if they get a start with OBLIVION likely to give favouritism a push if he runs.

.
1 MERLIN *** Disappointing last start in similar affair but will win in this company sooner than later and has to be considered. 3.00
2 CAN’T TOUCH ME * Disappointing of late and easier to ignore from bad gate with downgrade to winkers. 40
3 DAN NOBLE ** Thereabouts of late and worth keeping safe if supported on the market. 8.00
4 REVERSE TAKEOVER *** Drawn wide and maiden status a concern but obviously due and in the mix. 5.00
5 EQUIENCE ** Wide gate not too much of a concern as best work expected very late – a must for exotics. 20
6 INIESTA * Gate one helps but hard to have on recent form. 33
7 KUTI KUTI * Just not going well enough to consider. 33
8 ROLLTHEDICE * Didn’t back up good run and wide gate an issue in this. 25
9 ZERO LIMIT ** Maiden who battles away and can place in this weak field. 20
10 JUMBO CAN ** Excuses last start and previous form has him in the exotic mix. 12
11 SILENT FAITH *** Excuses last start and good enough in this weak field to lead and be hard to run down late. 4.00
12 MY WAY *** Backing up from a tough effort on the turf last Friday and suited in this field and back on the Poly – keep safe. 12
13 OBLIVION *** In form and very hard to beat if he gets a start. 3.00
14 BERT *** Also comes into serious contention if he gets a start and pay to follow. 12

.

Race 10

Selections; 2 GOOD TOWKAY – 7 SUPER AHEAD – 3 AFRIEND – 6 PERFECT TIME
Another race with no real stand-out and bar a couple of the lower rated horses, most have an each-way hope. GOOD TOWKAY looks a solid chance with a few things in his favour and happy to have him on top. Stephen Baster – who won on him four starts back – is back on-board and from a good alley he should be right in this from ‘go to whoa’. And with some of the other dangers – AFREIND, KINGTRAP and PERFECT TIME – drawing awkwardly, the nice gate for GOOD TOWKAY looks a winning factor. SUPER AHEAD has blinkers added for the first time and that could count for plenty with Barend Vorster taking the ride. The diminutive South African hoop should ride aggressively from a middle gate and the form suggests he plays a part late. As mentioned AFRIEND has drawn badly but certainly a horse that wins with luck on his day with PERFECT TIME and last start winner, KINGTRAP, also some hope. For the exotics, INDULGE appreciates gate one, FONG SU’s last run a beauty and the emergency, MAN OF SUBSTANCE, not the worst if he gets a start.

.
1 LIGHTNING MAC ** Showed last start he is competitive this grade and will be coming into his own late at value. 33
2 GOOD TOWKAY *** Showed plenty last start and will be right in this from a nice gate. 3.50
3 AFRIEND *** Ran out of condition first up after a spell and can win this with luck from wide draw. 3.50
4 INDULGE *** Usually an each-way hope but could run a very cheeky race from gate one with blinkers back on – keep safe. 12
5 KINGTRAP *** Got under most guards winning last start and pay to follow while in winning form. 12
6 PERFECT TIME *** Freshened after backing up nice debut maiden win with a solid placing this company – worth following. 6.00
7 SUPER AHEAD *** Blinkers go on and looks well placed to give this a shake. 6.00
8 POWER AND GLORY ** Resuming after just a fair run of form but goes OK on his day and worth a look in the paddock. 20
9 STEVEN ** Just struggling a bit of late and while competitive on his day he might be looking for something easier. 50
10 FONG SU *** Returned to form last start and pay to follow on that run under what looks suitable handicap conditions. 12
11 SUPER STAR * Needed Class 5 (and longer) to win last start and place looks best. 50
12 SAMURAI KID * Competitive at his best but blinkers off and prefer Class 5. 50
13 MAN OF SUBSTANCE *** Wide gate with junior hoop a concern but excuses last start and pay to keep safe at value. 12
14 HOOPER ** Blinkers off and shown to be competitive this grade so worth following when he gets a start. 12

All of ACE ARMANDO’s recent form is on turf, but he did win his very first start on the Polytrack and he could surprise.
