Sibaya Sale Ends On A High

Great week to be racing in the holiday province

With Vodacom Durban July fever thick in the air, Bloodstock South Africa’s Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale concluded on Friday at the popular casino resort on the North Coast with an aggregate of R21 055 055 achieved for the 234 lots sold.

162 KZN Yearling Sale

Top man on Day 2 was lot 162

The exciting Highlands stallion Pathfork emerged as the leading sire with 7 lots sold for an average of R202 857, with an aggregate of R1 420 000.

Day One Flashback

Leading freshman sire was Scott Bro’s former Coolmore Gr1 winner Crusade whose 26 sold for an average of R52 118 with an aggregate of R1 355 055.

Full price list

Form Bloodstock went to R600 000 for the appropriately named Well Connected (lot 162), a son of Silvano out of the smart National Assembly racer, Over Bridget.

He was the chart-topper for the boys on Day 2 and was consigned by Danika Stud on behalf of Rob Knuppe.

267 KZN Yearling Sale

Top lady seller on the day was lot 267

Highlands-bred Pathfork’s daughter Via Sacra (lot 267) was knocked down to Nic Jonsson for R450 000 to head the fairer sex listing on Day 2.

The chestnut princess  is a beautiful specimen and is out of the Al Mufti mare, Via Cosa Coma.
