Barrier Trials Catching On

While KZN is the only province in SA offering Barrier Trials, the concept, is catching on in the UK since launched in 2015.

Chelmsford is looking into the feasibility of holding barrier trials, with Newmarket trainers keen to take advantage of the practice races which have proved increasingly popular this year on the all-weather at Lingfield.

Racecourse manager Fraser Garrity revealed that the associated costs ‘aren’t inconsiderable’.
