Did backers of Watsonia get a fair run for their money in the first at Fairview last Friday?
The Stipes Report advises that Watsonia (G Cheyne) spread a right-fore shoe in the parade ring and had to be attended to by the farrier.
It was then reported that ‘she went down short’. She was also ‘hanging in from the 300m mark’. It may have been caused by the new shoes, but why let her run if she was short?
She ended up running a 6,25 length fourth to stablemate Carlita.
