Shoemaker Can Cobble A Win Together Today

Turffontein first is off at 12h30

Racing is at Turffontein Racecourse this afternoon and eight races are carded.

Race 7 on the card is the Listed Syringa Handicap over 1600m.

The first is due off at 12h30. Your Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge must be in by 12h25!

Trainer Mike de Kock saddles Shoemaker in Race 6.

He showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1160m on the Standside course.

Shoemaker  was slow into stride, but the manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the return to the mile.

He is the best weighted runner in this contest and should take a power of beating.

Trump My Queen from the Joey Soma stable takes her place in Race 4. She finished 2.75 lengths behind Special Charm last time.

She is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Captain Of All finished 1.5 lengths behind Ipso Facto in her penultimate run.

She is 11.5kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around. She is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
