Shea Shea set for Top UK Sprint

Shea Shea to run in Gr1 Nunthorpe Stakes

Former Bloodstock South Africa buy Shea Shea is one of 14 runners set to go to post for Friday’s Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

Shea Shea, who was bred by recently crowned Champion Breeders, Klawervlei, is making his first appearance since Royal Ascot back in June.
The son of National Emblem, who was a R550 000 purchase at the 2009 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, has been an excellent advertisement for the South African bred thoroughbred.

Shea Shea, who is owned by Brian Joffee and Myron Berzack, has won or placed in 19 of his 25 outings. To date, the 7yo gelding has earned over GBP 850 000 in prize money – or the equivalent of over R14.6 million.

Shea Shea, winner of the Gr1 Computaform Sprint and Gr1 Golden Horse Casino Sprint in South Africa,  is a winner of Dubai’s Gr1 Al Quoz Sprint, and is also a dual winner of the Meydan Sprint.

He has also been placed in three of Britain’s top sprint races – namely the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes, Group 1 July Cup and Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes.

No doubt, all Shea Shea’s local fans will be watching their hero race in Friday’s rich five furlong sprint.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
