The leading vendor by gross at the 2021 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale was Shadwell Stud Australasia (A$5,435 million for 20 sold) while Gilgai Farm was leading vendor by average (A$312,500 for 8 sold).
In February this year, it was announced that the decision has been made to disband the thoroughbred holdings of Shadwell Stud Australasia Ltd.
With the sale topper on both days it was no surprise to see Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) clinch the leading sire by average (3 or more sold) at A$492,857.
“We are delighted with the results,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.
“It’s a sensational clearance rate of 88 per cent and an average of well over A$100,000 and a gross of almost A$32 million. The results have exceeded our expectations going in. The market was buoyant from start to finish.”
Ahead of the National Broodmare Sale, Bowditch enthused, “We are really excited. The floats are starting to arrive with all these beautiful mares to sell next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It’s a phenomenal catalogue and I can’t wait until 10am on Tuesday morning.”
