The Sporting Post welcomes Sean Veale to the team today as our newest sponsored jockey.

The 38 year old born and bred Capetonian is based in KZN and takes 7 rides on today’s card, which sees an early start with the first on the ten-race programme at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth due off at 11h35.

Sean could strike early when partnering Spirit Guide for Dean Kannemeyer in the third. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has run three decent places down the sprint strip, and looks overdue to escape the maiden ranks.

There are three feature races on the card: the Gr3 Langerman, Listed Irridescence Stakes and the Non-Black Type Winter Mile.

One Stripe from the Vaughan Marshall stable takes his place in the Gr3 Langerman.

He is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was in the Gr3 Winter Nursery.

It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.

The son of One World has plenty of class and he should love the rise to 1500m. He is in a good space and he should take a power of beating.

Trainer Greg Ennion sends out Silver Screen in Race 4. She finished 1.4 lengths behind First Masterpiece last time.

She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

If not in need of this outing, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
