Scratchings Decimate Fairview Card

The first is off at 12h40

Twenty percent of the originally carded runners for today’s Fairview  eight-race programme have been scratched, many after racing was moved from the turf to the polytrack.

The first, which is now run over 1300m and with Workriders replaced by Jockeys, is due off at 12h40, with the lucky last set for 16h45.

Other distance changes include races 2,4 and 5 which are now to be started from the 1300m marker, with race 8 now run over 2000m.

The off-times remain as carded.

Please note that Wayne Agrella and Grant van Niekerk are not riding.

Sharon Kotzen to show off some amazing colours today! (Pic- Pauline Herman)

Amazing Colours from the Sharon Kotzen stable takes her place in Race 2. She is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit.

She stayed on over this course and distance last time but found one too good in the form of Savic. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Heavenly Blue meets the right field today and should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Trainer Juan Nel saddles Hey Siri in the lucky last. She was running on when second over 1900m on this course last time.

She was her own worst enemy that day as she hung in the closing stages. If Francois Herholdt is able to keep her on a straight line, she is capable of going one better in this line-up.
